¥ M housekeepers Should o remember The great success of the Royal Baking Powder is due to the extreme care exercised by its manufacturers to make it entirely pure, uniform in quality, and of the highest leaven ing power. All the scientific knowledge, care, and skill attained by twenty-five years’ practical experience arc contributed toward this end, and no preparation can be made with a greater accuracy, precision, and exact ness. Every article used is absolutely pure. Chemists are employed to test the strength of each ingredient, so that its exact effect in combination with its co-ingredients is defi nitely known. Nothing is trusted to chance, and no person is employed in the preparation of the materials used, or the manufacture of the powder, who is not an expert in his par ticular branch of the business. As a consequence, the Royal Baking Powder is of the highest grade of exfelence, always pure, wholesome, and uniform in qual ity. Each box it exactly like every other, and will retain its power, and produce the same and the highest leavening effect in any climate, at any time. The Government Chemists, after having analyzed all the principal brands in the market, in their reports placed the Royal Baking Powder at the head of the list for strength, purity, and wholcsomeness ; and thousands of * tests all over the country have further demonstrated the fact that its qualities are, in every respect, unrivaled. Si's contempt for the action of the majority of the supervisors i3 beyond expression. Atkinson Graphic: As Verne McDon ald opened the doors of the exchange bank shortly before i) o’clock Tuesday morning, clouds of smoke greeted bis entrance. Prompt investigation located the incipient fire in that portion of the bank building occupied by Dickerson and Eaton, draymen, and a hole was found burned through the floor large enough to admit the alliance majority of our county congress. An improvised spittoon, consisting of a soap box, filled with sawdust and the business end of a cigar did the business. A bucket of water extinguished the threatened "ho lacaust.” Spencer Bee: Mr. Jones was unex pectedly called to Iowa to attend the funeral of his mother. The first tele gram announced that if he wished to see bis mother alive lie must hasten to her home. Mr. Jones arrived at O'Neill in answer to the telegram he received and another one came staling that she was dead and for him to come to the funeral. Mr. Jones is one of Spencer’s best citi zens and we extend our sympathy. During Mr. Jones’ absence Joe Mann has taken his place in the store. Amelia Journal: This community was visited by that unwelcome caller, prairie fire, last Tuesday. J. C. Grorner had ten acres of trees burned. The mis creant who originated the fire should get his just dues. Butte Free Lance: One of the bright est, newsiest, staunch republican papers that visits our sanctum is the O'Neill Fjiontxeu; under the new regime, Doc Mathews is doing himself and party proud; we always admire pluck and en ergy whether it runs in our channel or not. The consolidation of the Item with The FnONiriEn was a wise political and financial move, on the chess board; one good, strong, vigorous, brainy news paper is worth a do/.en weaklings. Chambers Bugle: Quite a pleasant episode occurred at Chambers on Wed nesday. About noon it was announced that our old friend, C. E. Farrier, would arrive home with his bride about 2 i*. m., when all the business men and a num ber of fanners conceived the idea of as sembling at the residence of the groom and tender the happy couple a generous welcome. Accordingly the arrangement was carried out and wagons were brought into requisition. Arriving at the house, the door was thrown open and the genial face of Mr. Farrier ap pearc(J.at the entrance, and all were in viteii i'tr. An introduction was given to the bride, when at the request of the as sembly an address of welcome wus made by 15. C. Wry, which was fittingly re pliid to by Mr. Fariier and his estimable bride. It was a most pleasant affair and will ever be a green spot in the memory of all present. Enterprise: Judge Bowen this week received a letter from Wm. Hansel], of Chicago, announcing the death of his father, John Hansell, who died at the home of his daughter in Nevada, Story county, Iowa. Mr. Hansell was an old settler in Pleasantview township and well known in Atkinson. Many will re gret to learn this sad news of so worthy a man. Plain Dealer: Cord Smith, of Con ley, who was so very anxious to get his fingers into the big pile of money in Barret Scoott's possession, ought at least to have a bond not known as a straw bond. Smith returns property for taxa tion the munificent sum of $109, and his bondsmen are as follows: \V. H. Iiison, $114; J:. H. Parker, $101; J. Schneider, $128; C. L. Elkins, $77; Willie Calkins, $191; J. C. Leonard, $10. Total $829. This makes ample security for $15,000 for Holt county, doesn’t it. Ewing Democrat: Mr. Will Butler and Miss Leola Coe were uuiled in marriage at Neligli today. The happy affair took place at the residence of a sister of Miss Coe’s, This young couple are so well and favorably known that commenda tion and praise upon our part is unnec essary. That they may CDjoy many years of connubial bliss is the sincere wish of their uumcrous friends. Garden Seeds.
